Fiona Huang

Founder + Executive Director

Hi all! I’m Fiona Huang, a junior at the Cambridge School of Weston. I was born in Charleston, West Virginia and moved to MA when I was around 10 years old. I’ve had a passion for the fine arts since before I can remember so art has always been my go-to source of inspiration and form of communication.

Growing up, I struggled with my identity as an Asian-American and my lack of community and belonging in predominantly white environments as well as the various expectations and cultural clashes between being Asian and being American. The arts—specifically choir and visual art for me—have presented me with opportunities to connect to more diverse communities and helped me find courage and my voice to confront my fears and important issues happening in my community and around the world. As I became more and more involved in social justice issues and various initiatives, I wanted to emphasize the importance of awareness and action as I know well how hard it is to speak but also how hurtful silence can be.
